The Lawn of Your Dreams in Ontario

The city of Ontario is located east of Los Angeles in San Bernardino County.

Ontario is known for the largest one-story shopping mall on the coast, which is Ontario Mills. This mall has more than 200 stores, many of which are outlet or factory stores. Ontario also hosts the Road to California Quilt Show each year. This show draws more than 40,000 people each year and is the second-largest quilt show in the country.

From live music to museums, there is always something to do in the city. the Museum of History and Art includes exhibits that focus on the local history of the community. The Jack Mercer Community Bandstand brings in live music for summer concerts. Revelation Raceway, a remote control car racetrack, is located in Ontario. And on the quirkier side, Ontario is also the proud home of the world's longest picnic table, which is two miles long and was officially recognized by Ripley's "Believe it or Not."

Ontario Festival Days is a three-day event that draws more than 15,000 people. This festival features live music on two stages, carnival rides, games, food, and a car show. Other festivals and events in Ontario include the Happiness of Pursuit Festival, Ontario Truck and Jeep Fest, and the Ontario Teen Book Fest.

The city is home to the Ontario Reign East Coast Hockey League team, the Ontario Fury professional indoor soccer team, and the Agua Caliente Clippers NBA G League basketball team, all of which play at the Toyota Arena.

Ontario's economy relies on retail trade, manufacturing, health care, and service industries, as well as warehousing, including distribution centers for major companies, such as AutoZone, Cardinal Health, and Nordstrom. The Ontario International Airport is the 15th-busiest airport in the country and contributes to the area's role in cargo and freight traffic.

The agricultural industry also continues to support the area's economy, especially through lemons, oranges, and olives.

Some of the major employers in Ontario are Ontario International Airport, Safariland, Sam's Club Distribution, Securitas, Target Distribution, and the United Parcel Service.

The Ontario area was originally the home of the indigenous Tongva people long before Spanish explorers arrived. Farmers were especially drawn to the area, as it was a prime location for agricultural production, including citrus fruits. Ontario was officially incorporated as a city in 1891, and according to the 2010 Census, the city has a population of 163,924 people.

Ontario's climate is hot-summer Mediterranean with semi-arid conditions, so the summers are very hot, and the winters are warm. The autumn and winter months tend to bring the Santa Ana winds.
