Located just ten miles from the coast, Santa Ana is the county seat for Orange County, and it is ranked as the fourth-safest city of its size in the United States.
There are many things to see and do in Santa Ana. Discovery Science Center provides family fun through interactive exhibits, such as Indiana Jones and the Adventure of Archaeology, and there are several museums in the area. The Bowers Museum has exhibits of mummified animals from Egypt, religious art, and Chinese terra cotta warriors. Other museums include the Marconi Automotive Museum and the Heritage Museum of Orange County.
Residents and visitors can take in live concerts and theatre productions at the historic Yost Center. And on the first Saturday of the month, the city hosts a Santa Ana Artwalk downtown, where people can purchase original artwork.
