Fontana, located in San Bernardino County, offers many arts and cultural attractions and activities. The Center Stage Theater, which is an Art Deco style theater built in 1936, is now a live dinner theater and theatrical event center featuring touring artists, TIBBIES Great American Cabaret, Broadway-style productions, and community events. 

The Steelworkers' Auditorium serves as a venue for theatre camps, musical classes, acting classes, family movie nights, dance recitals, and summer reading programs. 

Those who enjoy local history can check out the Pepper Street House, which once belonged to a pioneer rancher and landowner and now serves as a museum operated by the Fontana Historical Society. The Pagliuso Family Chapel, which is believed to be the smallest Catholic Church in existence, is also a historical site in the area. 

With its winding nature trails, pond, and gardens, the Mary Vagle Nature Center is a refuge full of nature's beauty. It also provides opportunities for people to enjoy the outdoors through programs covering a variety of subjects, such as local plants and animals, earth and soil geology, and wildlife education. 

The Auto Club Speedway, a racetrack that hosts NASCAR, Xfinity Series, and IndyCar races, draws racing teams and their fans to the area. It also serves as the location for the California Festival of Speed, a Porsche Club event that includes a race, time trial, vendors, track tours, swap meet, a Porsche Corral, and lots of Porsche-related activities. 

While there are no professional sports teams in Fontana, residents who are sports enthusiasts have opportunities to participate in family sports programs, youth sports, and sports camps. 

With major highways passing through the city, Fontana has become a regional hub for the trucking industry, and there are many trucking-related businesses in the area, such as truck dealerships, industrial equipment centers, and distribution centers for automobile manufacturers. In addition to the trucking industry, Fontana's economy is also supported by the retail trade, health care, and manufacturing industries. 

Some of the city's major employers are Kaiser Permanente, Fontana Unified School District, the City of Fontana, Target, Manheim Auctions, Better Beverages, and American Security Products. 

After it was founded in 1919, Fontana became a town that relied largely on its agricultural economy, including vineyards, citrus orchards, and poultry ranches. According to the 2010 Census, the population of Fontana is 196,069 people. 

Fontana has a typical Mediterranean climate and is often affected by hot, dry Santa Ana winds. The city can get very hot in the summer and only gets an average of about 14.77 inches of rainfall per year.
